I favor Crickets. Berkley gulp red worms work pretty good. Red wigglers for shell crackers. Road Runners and Beetle Spins with ul rod, micro light spinning reel and 4# transition line are fun. lol
Which to find to be the best for bluegills?

Hand size is not uncommon mostly in deeper water or when they are beding in sallower water. The little gills have no reservations about attacking RR or BS. Rooster Tails will work too.

We like mealworms. They're cheaper, so you don't mind losing them to bait stealers. We usually use waxworms, too. - Roberta

crickets a little harder to keep on the hook but a much better fish producer atleast around douglas
I have been using both this year. So far the crickets seem to be working much better than the mealworms. In the past I have had just the opposite trend. You never know- try it all and see what works best for you.

Ain't that the truth! I guess that's why we all carry a jillion different lures.
