    Default Jiggin' in the wind

Told my brother-in-law and stepdad I'd take 'em fishing at Reelfoot on Saturday, they bought their out of state license and lake permit, and as the week progressed the wind prediction continued to increase, until settling somewhere between ridiculous and apocalyptic, due south. I told them we might have a few hours early and that'd be it. With the thousands of stumps above and below the low water, it's not ideal for boating in 4 ft rolling whitecaps. Anyhow, all adversity aside, we eased out at first light in an unbelievably dense fog and a steady 10mph breeze, and wacked 'em! 33 by 10am when the wind made my 12 ft ultralight feel like it had a 50 inch wind sock hangin' from it! LFT live baby shad in dark green and red with a chartreuse head was the ticket.
    Oh yeah, GO CARDINALS!!!

Ya done good Son, I stayed home and worked on the boat to be ready for when the wind weren't so tough.

Good fish Josh! Can old men be "retrained"? I am gun-shy of wind.

Good job! A catch like that makes fighting the wind worth it all.

I only fish on days of the week that end with
a "Y" ...and then, only if it's raining or not.
