    Default What are these?

I went out to a local lake today, not to fish, but rather enjoy the weather and get a feel for what spots i want to fish tomorrow and Tuesday. There was a guy fishing with his buddy with some minnows, as he was leaving he asked if i wanted them. I said sure, but i didn't have a cooler, so he let me have the styrofoam cooler too. After i got home, i open it up to get rid of the dead fish and keep the live ones. Must've been over 30 minnows in there, but there was 5 fat long fish in there too. Maybe someone on here can tell me what they are.

In my opinion, it kind of looks like a creek chub or white sucker.

How would I use it? Just hook it through the lips like a minnow and steadily reel it in towards the shore?

I dunno even know which rod to use for it. The 7' light action rod or the 6' medium action rod?

I would go with 6th med fish under a float weightless hooked through the lips as close to cover as I could get with out getting tangled. Let him run around and do the work for you. Good luck with them should be some fish getters.
