FIRST QUESTION I,VE HEARD YOU ASK---YOU,RE SLIPPIN CP [HAHA]
I know some of u have underwater cameras and I was wondering if any of u had used it at night. If so, could u post the results.
I been thinking again. My camera has a high intensity led light beam. Kinda like a flashlight beam. Well, flashlights work better at night, so will the underwater camera work better at night since there would be no surface glare? Just wondering. Don't wanna waste me time if it don't work well..
Thanx

Tom, I've never used my AquaVu at night, but I have used it in 35 ft of water, and without the lights it's as dark as pitch, but with the infrared lights on it's like daylight. I hope this is the answer you are looking for! :D

I found that the screen is much better to see at night when you don't have to block the sun from the screen. My Aqua-vu MC2X has a sun screen and your face must be very close to it when viewing it in daylight sun. At night you can take the sun screen off and look at the monitor from a distance and more than one person can view it at the same time.
I have the aqua-vu ZT-20. It's looks pretty good at night, but with the lights on at night, the it shows all of the little reflective debris in the water. The daytime picture is much better, as long as you can see the screen.
I use an Aqua-Vu Scout through the ice. Can't see anything but suspended particuls at night with IR lights on. Water color has a lot to do with viewing distance. Ice with snow cover shortens the viewing distance also.

how clear does the water have to be to see with the cameras?

I use mine through the ice. The lake I've used mine on has dark stained water. Day time visability was just a few feet in 25 feet of water. So the clearer the water the better. Some units use diffrent lighting or light placement whitch is suposed to work better.
