Good article Jeff. When I troll, I use 2 poles aft. I let one line out about 50 ft and the other about 70ft. This allows the lines to cross in tight turns without getting tangled. You know what I am takling about here. I adjust my depth with the type lure lip size. Like you, I use swivels and 14 lb test line (I lazy too). I have tried planners, but I can't judge distances...ha...Lost some..but they work..I also have a downrigger (for sale). I can put the cranks down "deep".

I also use line clips. I attatch the clip to the lines (similar to offshore rigs) and when the clips trip, I either have a fish or a hangup. Now, when the clip trips, it sets off an electronic buzzer and I look back to what is going on...I don't wear me neck out...ha... I have shown Richard Williams this setup.

Honey don't like this type fishing, so I only do this in the summer and when she ain't with me. I ain't rigged me new boat up for trolling yet, but I gonna...

You catch all sorts of stuff trolling.........
