    Default old minnkota maximizer

I searched and read a bunch of old threads about maximizers. I used this when I had a junky 12 volt trolling motor, it was cheaper than buying a new TM.
I now have a 24 volt system (not 12 /24) and can not get as slow as I would like early in the day (still a pretty junky TM). Will the maximizer work on a 24 volt system, lost the instructions 15 years ago.

if dont say 12/24 on it would think not if you hook it up 24v to it may last for a wile then go up in a ball of fire and if you are in aluminum boat shorted wires and aluminum dont fare to good it will melt a hole in it before you know it did it ... fiberglass ante much better i would leave it along

If you are thinking about selling if it doesn't work on the 24 volt system give me PM. Maybe can work something out.

I don't remember if they even had 24 volt motors when I bought my Maximizer.

I had one on my last boat, 12 volt only! 24 volts and she will cook!

My friend had one back in the 70s. I would be really surprised if it is more than 12 volt. Don't recall seeing 24 volt motors back then.
