    Default October is here!

October has rolled around again and that brings fall test netting season for your Kansas District Fisheries Biologists.

I'll be away from the office most of the time after today but I'll check in on CDC as often as I can to respond to any new posts that may be posted on the ask the bio forum.

Below is my 'office' that I will be working out of for the next month. It gets a little cramped at times but the scenery is great and the weather is nice...sometimes! I'll be starting with my little lakes and working towards the reservoirs by mid-month.

    Fish On!

My arms and back hurt just looking at those nets. Call if you need help! Then I will call someone else to help you... LOL.. Be careful.

NO volunteers? Well, not me either, sorry. I've done it before myself, years ago. However, I do deeply appreciate your efforts, in more ways than one!! My hats off to you and all the fisheries biologists.

It's that time of year again! Netted Butler and Cowley State Fishing Lakes this week. Heading north next week to Chase SFL and Council Grove.

Looking forward to the floating office for the rest of the month!

Yes, we electrofish thoughout the year. Black bass are sampled during May with the shocker boat. I electrofish for blue catfish mid-July. Gizzard shad are shock sampled mid-August. Night time electrofishing is conducted late September early October for young of the year walleye.

Do you ever get upto Pottawatomie?

I use to fish Pott Co. Lake N0.2 when I was a kid.

We also enjoyed Tuttle Creek, Milford amd the Blue River.

The Blue River was right in my back yard in St. George.
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines
