Default Crafts for Military Veterans with PTSD Post Tramatis Strass Disorder

One of our military veterans on this forum (RonnieB) suffers from PTSD and wanted a few craft ideas that he could share with other military veterans who have PTSD. First of all may God bless all of our veterans. All gave some, some gave it all. Ronnie posted this and I quote "I'm involved with a group called,"Take a vet fishing". We are sponsored by the Goverment and, many other private organizations and, donors. I'm alway's looking, for new thing's to do. To keep vet's,like me busy. Instead of,thinking about war and,our nightmare's. I like to know, how to order supply's for. The jelly belly, shiner minnow ect. Thing's that,we can make to keep us busy and, fishing ? " It was on this thread.http://www.crappie.com/crappie/diy-s...stinger-5.html

Anyway, I shared what little I know with Ronnie and I hope other people will also share their craft ideas too. This was my answer to him and to every military veteran who is looking for a craft to do to help you recover from PTSD.

    "Hey Ronnie,

I have been making lures and pinmins for about 40 years. It has just been within the last year that I started to make soft plastic lures. You will find a ton of information on how to make soft plastics in the stickies on the top of the foroum, or you can email me and I will gladly share information with you.

There is also a forum called the jig tying forum. Again read the stickies at the top of the forum to help you get started. As for soldering pinmins I have put a few threads on it in the jig tying forum also. I will list a few at the bottom of the page. I will get most of my supplies from Rod Building Supplies | Lure Making Supplies | Fly Tying Supplies | Fishing Hooks or I will just drive to bass pro shop in leeds alabama and pick up a few. Many items can also be found at Cabela's: Cabela's Official Website - Quality Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Outdoor Gear at competitive prices.

These threads might help you a bit too.

Don't know if they're getting into the painting aspect of jigs but they could contact Component Systems and see if they'd send them a bunch of powder paint.

Ship, I'm 100% for PTSD and that's why I'm so proud to have the private lakes I fish. Fishing is my therapy along with my rod building lure making.
I'm the only one ever fishing at the private lakes I fish and it really makes it peaceful. Thanks for all the links!
