    Default brush piles paying off

over the past two years ive been fishing a private lake just down the road from my house. after a few trips fishing this lake ive noticed that there was little if any structure except an old fence row. all of the crappie that i was catching were very skinny or thin. they had good length and mouth size but just no weight. so little by little i placed brush piles, stake beds and 5 gallon buckets with 1x's in them.after the spring spawn i noticed the fish were a little bigger but i thought that was because they were full of eggs. so yesterday i went back and got there a little late but the bite was on and caught some 9'' to 11'' fish off jigs. i went back this morning with minnows and the weather was awesome 65 degrees cloudy little wind and a slight sprinkle of rain, water temp was 73 degrees. i caught a nice mess of fish and 9 of these monsters. heres a pic of the 2 biggest.one is 17 1/4'' 13 inches around the other is 18 1/2" and 14 3/4" around nice SLABS in my book.

MONSTERS!! Private water access is one of life's treasures. Enjoy it if you got it.

Those are pretty good slabs in anyone's book. Thanks for the pic!

I only fish on days of the week that end with
a "Y" ...and then, only if it's raining or not.
