Shawn, I fish East Fork a lot, for fun and crappie tournaments. It has been a strange year so far. After last years banner year (the first in about 10 years)all the regulars, myself included expected a really good year. It just didn't happen. We are still catching quantitys of fish but most of them are what we call brothers (they are all the same size 6-8")
If you go I would recommend fishing the island, just to the right of the Afton ramp. Fish the open side about 15' deep, there are a lot of tree tops in that area. You can't see them because they are about 5' underwater. Use your graph or do the old timers method, drop a line about 10' down and troll in that area, it won't be long until you snag a tree, throw out a marker and catch some fish. A word of advice tho, fish in the morning, because by noon the pleasure boaters will out in force and it's almost impossible to hold your position.

    Hi.
I fished the island by the Afton ramp Thursday from 11 pm, to about 4 am.
I kept 16 for dinner with my wife and toddler. Thanks goes to OhioMike and
the others who mentioned driving over that direction.
The fish were about 5 ft deep in 12, to 16 ft of water; some out in the open
and some were close to visible structure. I had a blast!

    Default Afton

Where is Afton ramp? Since the crappie fishing at Caesars Creek is horrible, I might try East Fork (home of the Crappie SLABS!!!).

Afton is the ramp off of rt 32. Across from Boarshead.
