    Are you preheating you mold?
What are you using to melt your lead, just so we know how to help.

Try pouring a couple times without hooks so the mold will get warmed. Should fix your problem. You can also set the mold on top of your pot while the lead it melting, will preheat the mold.

What StumpHunter said plus I sometimes use a little single burner hot plate turn it down and don't get to hot or hinge will bind. Also the aluminum handles can get awful hot and don't ask how I know. If preheating and you start to open mold and is tight let it cool. You can mess up the hinge by forcing it open and don't ask how I learned that lesson

Also try lubricating/smoking the mold. Keep a quick steady stream, when pouring. Lead cools fast and will clog in a cold mold.

The hot pot has a very thick pour spout on both sides. On one side take a triangle file and dead center on the point file a groove, this will give you a little better pouring stream from your hot pot. I hate to tell ya but a bottom pour pot would work a whole lot better on that mold.

X2 by pouring lead without hooks to heat it up. But that kinda hurts your pouring cause the hot pot doesn't hold that much lead.

Good job! Is that a modified mold to add the barb?
