Very nice report, thanks.
The water and weather have been slowly cooling off - of course that means the fishing is getting hotter!!! Fished three times in the last five days and it just gets better each time. Here's the scoop.
Brush piles - you can fill your livewell in a very quick fashion, especially if you hit the right pile. When you lock on to a good one you will have your limit as fast as you can set the hook, reel them in and get back after it! Fishing brush verticle in 10-30 feet of water, the fish have been down in the brush. Use a small hook (I like a #4 for brush) and drop it down until you feel the brush.
Trees - both deep and shallow trees are holding fish. They have been anywhere from 2' deep to 20' deep. Pitching to the tree or vertical jig - does not matter. When you feel the bump set the hook!
We've been catching our limits in just a couple of hours. Sometimes they are big, but when you enter a tourney they are just good eaters. Lots of fun! Also have been catching several 8" fish, looks good for the future.
Jig color - doesn't matter - white, blue, chart. smoke, green, pink.
Good luck!!!
Brad
