The Fall after the turnover, everything is biting. you never know what you're gonna get.
What's y'alls favorite time of year to fish for crappie? Mine is definitely in the dead of winter, specifically early morning or night time. Something about freezing cold while catchin slabs is awesome.

Probably in the Winter when you have to dress warmly but the air temp is decent.
CATCH A BIG-UN
Spring...when you can pitch a 1/4 oz jig in an area the size of a wash tub in water 12 inches deep, and catch 25 slabs in a row....ain't nothin better.

Late fall. The lakes are empty, the weather is stable and if you find the fish you can stay on them.
The only problem is that it's hard to find somebody to fish with, and I don't think it's safe to be on the water alone when it's that cold.
January and February.

Winter for me also, less boat traffic, big slabs, trolling deep.
