For me it depends on what color combo I am using. If the combo goes good with a FLO. Red head then that is what I want. Same with some Chartreuse combos, but many combos like Blue and White or Blue and Chartreuse I use unpainted heads. Also some pink one I like to paint the head pink.

However I don't think it make much difference for the most part.

I mold and use plain most of the time. I do buy some painted heads with eyes and I catch a few more with them than my plain, but not a whole lot more. Most of the time, I don't think it makes a lot of difference.

When the water is fairly clear i do'nt think color is all that important but when fishing a lake like pstone fishes any extra color will help a bunch especially the ones he uses.

I always use either red or chartreuse colored jig heads. If I am using a tube with a lot of chart. say in the tail then I go with a red head. I really like the chartreuse heads more in the winter months.

Use painted heads 99% of the time, mostly chartreuse and sometimes pearl. Paul paints them with a powder coat dip and he's gotten real good at getting a smooth finish.

My neice left some glitter fingernail polish at the house about 2 years ago, so I use that to paint plain jig heads with. I've had good success with that. We went nite stalkin' the two weeks she was here, she enjoyed that. She wants to be a surgeon, so I told her filleting fish was good practice, she fillet several hundred fish. Not to many 16 year old California girls are gonna do that!! Tom
