Personally I would go with a Mercury for for the all in one tiller. Same motor as the Tohatsu and Nissan except for the tiller. After that I would shop based on price and who in your area has the best service dept. in case service is needed. Too bad ya must have electric start as smalloutboards.com has some great buys on demo and fish camp motors with full warranty. Now if Evinrude would make an E Tech in a small package that would be a game changer in my mind.

I bought a Mercury 9.9 Pro Kicker and it is working just fine. The tiller works great and the electric start is great, have not had to charge the battery since the initial charge. The gas does not need to be mixed with oil but there is some additives they want you to add.

what additives??? Who Makes Mercury ?? keep it coming guys. It's hard to fined a 9.9 even in st louis except for BPS $2480 plus tax. I don't really care for Mercury. just never had a good one

The smaller motors are made by Tohatsu.

Had my Nissan 15HP for about 4 years now, strong little 4 stroke, that sips fuel. Would buy another in a heartbeat. You can't beat the price.

I have a Yamaha 15 4 stroke. Same wt and size as the 9.9 very quiet, sips fuel and no trouble. It's my second one (the first was a 9.9)

Not much experience with others though.
