Default A few kayak smallies, pics

Just a few pics from my kayak fishing adventures this summer. Was a great summer for smallmouth fishing. Averaged 15 fish per day, once or twice a week. Had two days with over 50 smallies in the kayak each day. Caught some great fish. These pics are from opening weekend of bass season on my first trip of the year for bass. Awesome day it was. Took home my limit of nice eaters and released 4 other keepers.

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

bet you had some fun. Nice catch.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Been a great summer for smallmouth. The last two trips put over 100 smallies in the kayak. Yeehaa. Hitting it again tomorrow. Of course I have released almost all of the keepers. Smallmouth fishing first 4 hours of the day then crappie and gill fishing the rest of the day. The beauty of it all is that I start and finish from home and never have to get into a vehicle. Just jump in the kayak and take off for the day. Shore lunch, maybe squeeze in a nap under an overhanging tree along the river bank. Yep, going to be a great day.
