Went to a small man made lake near Niagara Falls, One of my pass the time spots and i did the same as what i do in spring. Went to a small bridge and fished around the piler's with a micro tube jig red head clear gliter tail 1/16 plain jig, under a slip bobber. I got there at 7:20am set depth around 6foot.I got a bunch of bites as soon as the bobber stood up, but ever time i set the hook i would get some weight then nothing, it went on about 5 more times so Istoped seting the hook and just started to reel and i finaly got one in my first midsummer crappie......Question did I do the wrong thing by seting the hook or was it just the fish nibbeling at the bait??????? I've read that summer crappie bite light. But Im pumped now I,m going to dip some minner's and get there at the butt crack of dawn, and see what happens....No i had my iphone with me and dam if I droped it in without taking a pic of it.
