cleaning the live well
What does everone use to clean their live well bleach,dish soap or what? Don't want to clean it and end up with a bunch of floaters next turnament.

I just rinse mine real well and leave the lid open to dry.

I cleaned mine with distilled white vinegar and baking soda. I mixed some to make it like a paste and scrubbed with a brush then rinsed reel good. I did it twice then wiped it out with a towel and left the lid open.
Worked pretty darn good. One of the kids snuck a fish in the livewell and I didn't know till I went in the garage three days later. Lol it was nasty.

I know several fishermen that only drain the livewell and leave it dry out. I always hose my livewell out before putting boat in Garage and most of time spray it with a diluted mix of bleach and water first then rinse well. Of course in hot weather I keep a cooler with ice in boat and all fish go directly to cooler, keeps meat firmer and I feel they taste better. If u have a few die in livewell then they are laying in 75 to 85 degree water for 4-6 hours? I wouldn't let raw hamburger sit out all day on counter before eating so why fish. just my 2 cents...........................
