    Default Thank you Clinton!

Clinton gave me my largest crappie ever yesterday. I have only fished there twice - once 20+ years ago in the cold (we got skunked) and yesterday after talking the family into going there instead of our usual spot at Hillsdale. We sat over a small brush pile next to some trees in 19 FOW for about and hour and a half. Three crappie (2 keepers), a small drum, and a 15"ish wiper for me while the wife did not hook anything (had a few hits though). Only fished minnows and got them about 7-8 feet deep. I have caught a jillion crappie in my life but until yesterday my largest was about 12" believe it or not. Guess that's what I get for hammering HD so often! The big one was just short of 14" - like 0.125" or less short. The other keeper was 10.25". Needless to say I'll probably be back to Clinton in the near future. It's actually only about 10 minutes further from us than HD.

Here's a pic of the slab and another with it next to the 10" for comparison (thanks for shading my ugly mug out baby - good girl!):

Does the lower water help or hurt the fishing at Hillsdale?

kopper36- nice fishy and I hope you continue to have success. Clinton's a goldmine IMO, it brings out the kid in me.
All lakes raise a foot when I step in the boat
