    Default MTL Help

Just started fishing mtl. First time out we caught a few when it was 100 degrees out. Went back today, put in at south fork about 6:30 am couldn't get a bite. Tried along stumps near boat ramp nothin. Tried the bridge piers nothing fished 4 hours caught one fish. Any help or advice appreciated.

Haven't been on the lake in almost two weeks, so not sure if I can help much...... I keep telling people that Twain is a finicky lake! For no reason at all they'll get lockjaw like a cold front just passed through. My suggestion right now would be if you don't get bit on your first stretch of fishin, fire up the big motor and fish some new water. Rumor has it CrappieMaster's was tough too....

Wish I could give it a shot, but I'm sitting in Finland right now!

Caught fish 1 inch off bottom on stumps, holding still. Would get a bump, didnt set hook until I felt a little weight that's how slow the bite is.

I did fish on the bottom near stumps but wasn't very patient. If I didn't get bit in about 1 minute I would reel up a couple turns. Should I give em more time?

Did you mark fish? If not you might try trolling along a tree line or point. You can troll a jig, twister, with or without a minnow, or a crappie size crankbait. If you mark fish but they will not bite try several different colors, even very small jigs, with niblets..

Thanks, we did mark fish by bridge piers but they wouldn't bite. We tried minnows, chart, white and black jigs with a slow presentation.
