Good to hear you caught some good crappie on your nightstalk. Sounds like a fun time setting the hook with a different feel. Thanks for the report.
Great evening out on the lake,
Got there around 8:30pm, home by 2am, real pretty out there last night, hooked about 25 crappie, took home 13 nice ones, not to many trash fish, that was nice for a change, tried a new area that i just put out some PVC at. could only use one rod, minnows on a double drop shot/1/2oz weight was all i used, had one green light out @ 2 foot down, the fish were up high last night, saw some real nice slabs swimming around the light,
if I was hungry I would have netted them. lol
havn't seen that in awhile. usually mostly see perch and tiny crappy.
set anchor in 30FOW, and most fish were caught 5 to 10' down, anything lower got cats, presentation that worked best was leaving the bail open and slowly dropping it down 4 to 6" at a time, waiting about 3 to 5 sec.
it was deadly, they were nailing it good on the drop, alot took it up so when my line went slack, it was fish on.
fun way to fish for em, setting rods in a holder is getting old lol
Have a great day all
