We only used the 1/8 oz Crawdad Spin Dandy with a cricket. We tried a cricket under a cork but the fish would be much smaller.
We went down to the Burnt Fort landing early Monday AM and fished the incoming tide. We had good luck with Bream. We knocked off early and went back to camp for cleaning, cooking and eating dem Bream.
Tuesday we went down early and fished the outgoing tide. No bream today but we did catch a few Warmouth and one crappie. When the sun got up bailed out. It is just too hot on the river this week.
There is a 4 foot tide down there and this part of the Satilla is very Purty and reminds me of a small St Johns river. You can get a tide chart for Burnt Fort and know when to fish. The incoming seemed to be the best fishing.
The bridge in the picture with Fred is the Hwy 252 bridge and the landing is under the bridge. We were 10 miles from Folkston and 14 Miles from the St Mary's and Florida.

Thanks Danbo for the report, sure is a pretty river. those fish look good. Thanks again, Jimmy
looks like plenty of water from the picks.fished tidle water one time was told incoming tide is the best. set up in the mouth of a creek .they come in to feed.
did you camp at the premitive campground .
retired and now i will always fish
We did not camp. We stayed at a friends cabin about 10 miles up river and drove down. The camp site there at the landing is flat and maybe room for 6 camps. There are a few RV parks in Folkston which is about 10 miles west of Burnt fort. The state at the swamp is the best.
