    Default Trolling Motor mounting?

Has anyone here used the t rubber bolts from Motorguide or the Minn Kota quick nuts with good success?

Its always best to use stainless bolts with washers and lock nuts.

If it is accessible I would use lock nuts and bolts. I tried those but they failed me, twice. I know guys that have been using them for years with no problems though. What I did was cut them down to the thickness of my fiberglass and used them to bolt through as kind of a bushing. You still need something between the glass and the TM. Matt

Probably not going to get the hex head. Mine is a Maxxum 80. I used some stainless 1/4-20 with an allen head on them.

I had/have them on my trolling motor. I hit a sunken log and almost lost my entire trolling motor, because the nuts split on them. I now have stainless.

I would use stainless if at all possible. Use a large washer under the lock nut.
