I use 14ft. BnM trolling rods.
Anyone willing to make a recommendation for trolling rods to be using in pushing crank baits from the front of the boat? Do I need the 16 ft or longer rods that I've read about? Is it necessary to have long rods for pushing cranks successfully?
Thanks,
Tnfisher

BnM PST trolling rods. I like the 12 footers.
For cheaper yet, I've been happy with the BNM West Points.
I use the 12' BnM jiggin' pole cause the fish I fish for, don't know the difference.
Ain't broke nuthin' yet. My 2 cents.

Thanks to each who responded to my questions. I really want to get set up to push some cranks, but was concerned about buying long rods that might turn out to not have enough backbone to support the 2 - 3 oz. weights that are needed to keep the cranks under the boat. Again, thanks for the help.

I am pushing with 3oz of weight and not having a problem with the PST's. I was hesitant at first to try it on such a rod but they work just fine in reality thanks to some other members on the board.
