Default Thanks Southern Pro again / limits today with Xring.

We caught lots of fish with jigs. Culled out 2 limits and even had a few slabs. NIMROD Specials were the bait of the day like usual. Thanks Southern Pro for the Purple/ Chartruse Umbrellas! Biggest today was 16'' Slab !

Nimrod, you do you fish those tubes......jig em? Just wondering. I love the curlytails but don't ever do good on the tubes unless I pull off the front couple of strands, leaving only two or three and vertical jig em like stingers.

Verticle jig or drag them over stake beds, stumps, and brushpiles. I use on a 12' Bucks jig pole on 8 lb test line. I rig the tubes with a 1/8 oz round leadhead pushed inside . I use a small barrel swivel about 18'' up inline incase of twist. Occasionally a jig will twist line if not centered on leadhead. One thing is real important ,always smooth rough spots off lead and lube before inserting. Any fish scent or oil will work to make insertion easier. Used to say fish loved them here because Crappie fed on larger Shad. Well I catch fish anywhere I've used them. IMO crappie will feed on anything that will fit their mouth. Fishing micro baits for Crappie is a myth or plain crap IMO.
