Can any of you guys down there tell me if there's a campground with waterfront sites, or close enough to the water to wheel a kayak to the water? I looked on the internet last night but couldn't find a campground where sites were close to water.

hmmm.... fisherman's ramp campground at newton stewart... is on the south lick fork arm of lake.... I think that is close to the water...although I have never camped there and not sure if there are any modern sites there.

HHD is right as long as you do not need electricity. I was at the bay to the campground yesterday and there was no one camping at the waterfront sites.
Also some of the sites in the modern campground are near enough to the water you could easily drag your kayak up to you site.

I couldn't find much info, didn't look like the Fishermans Camp had room for me (nearly 60'), and don't need electric (have solar). There are a couple larger sited (65') in the Main CG, but they didn't look too close to the water. Maybe I'll swing in and look around, if it don't work out I'll just keep going south. Thanks for the info!

If you stop at Modern campground gate house they can help you. They have a list whats close to water, and etc.
