    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Im just learning, but they look good to me. I myself like the Blue, it seems like the features stand out more.

Jimp...the images actually look really good to me....

    I don't own Lowrance...so I don't know a lot about their settings.....

About the only things that would be interesting to experiment with would be to tic the Sensitivity down just a little to maybe remove some of the "brighter washouts" in parts of the image..(this even sometimes makes the shadows from structure more distinguishable)...

Another interesting experiment to try when you find a piece of structure like this...is to set the SI to 1 side only.....(This will Zoom that side's image..without having to "Freeze" the image and use the "Zoom cursor")....

    Still...great shots jimp....good job.....

thanks for the comments and suggestions.

I've tried the different palattes, and settled on that one that day anyways. LOL. I've not had much luck with the SI part of the package but have been able to get some pilings from docks to show up on the rare occassion. I usually have the sensitivity on auto at this point in time as I'm still a NEWB in training.

Try backing down your contrast, I run mine from 58-65 most of the time. The images won't look as washed out with the lower contrast. My HDS-8 is a gen1 with a lss-1.

When I am using 2d overlay, I crank up the contrast to give better definition of the DI overlaid on the 2d.

This shot I really cranked up the contrast to give the jig good definition. The pallet you choose also makes a difference.

ok, will try messing with the contrast.

    Another ?

Can you change the palatte on a something already in the "memory" of an HDS 8, such as when you are reviewing the recorded history retained in the HU memory or is it too late ?
