The end of an era on TV for sure. Probably will never be a show on as pure as Andy's ever again. He lived in Manteo NC and is where he died. Never did see eye to eye with his politics but He sure seemed to have a heart of gold. My Father-in-law had a chance to eat lunch with him back in the 70's when He worked for Union camp in Dare county. He said He was a very nice man.CF

Ed, we still watch the show at 5:30 every afternoon. We also attend Mayberry Days in Mt Airy every year.

I also agree 100% with your other statement that I highlighted.

"The cage sure looks awful empy, don't it, Pa?", "Yes son, it sure does. But don't the trees seem nice and full?"

I know it is a normal part of living, but dang it if I don't get sad every time I hear of Icons from my era passing away!
