Default Hot day leaves me empty handed

Went out fishing today after church service. Temps were already approaching 90 around noon. I caught a few bluegill and sunfish by slowly retrieving jigs. They seem to be more attracted to the flash spinners, but given their size, they just weren't big enough to really put their mouths over the treble hook, so i felt a lot of taps.

I did manage to get a few lucky hits, and one solid hit from what i now believe is more of a hybrid, as it doesn't match the description of a white bass, striped bass, or wiper. But in either case it had to be 15" to take out of the lake anyway.

Good job, Chris just getting out in this hot & humid weather. Catching a few was your reward.

At my age, I have to go at daylight for a couple of hours & then again about a couple of hours before dark. Too hot for old folks.

That looks like a golden eye herring. Trash fish. They hit hard and fight hard but that is it. Can't eat them. EB

    Chris,

That is a White Perch. No length min. or bag limit. They're an invasive species.
