    Default hey guys, one question

So guys ive been enjoying my vacation and went night fishing in about 11 feet of water on a dock and i caught some cats, gars and crappie! The only thing was them bugs were bad and we even had bug spray. Can anybody tell me if the fall is alittle better for fishing at night? Or is there any way to get them flying pest away?!

Im leaving again today for another week, after that i should he on again as usual!

    Keep fishin

The thermacell works great on the skeeters and maybe a few other bugs but it doesnt keep all the bugs out of your face. If you want to fish at night bug free wait until we get a cool snap towards winter when the bugs are all gone. You can catch fish all year long night fishing so dont quit just because it gets a little cold. That's what heaters are for.Thumbs Up

If you are fishing in one spot and not moving around much, the Thermacell clip-on works well. However, if you walk the banks at all, in the early am or late pm, when the skeeters are at their finest, it won't help you much. I use Ben's 100 lotion (99.9% Deet) on all exposed skin and I've yet to have a bad experience with the critters. At night though, I suspect you aren't moving around too much, so the cell should help. I'd just keep a bottle of deet handy in case it doesn't work!

BTW, using Permethrin (Cabelas) spray on my jeans, shirt, shoes and socks has eliminated the problem I use to have with ticks.

Besides the Thermacell - get a can of Yard Guard bug spray and just spray it in a circle in the air you should be good to go.
