    Default Crappie scent


    Anybody have a favorite crappie scent they are putting on their baits. I need something to undo their lockjaw................
    I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.....

    I still use original Fish Formula when i can find it. Here lately though with this heat, all that is gettin on my jigs is Banana Boat SPF 30!

    Most cheap scents are basically anise oil thinned down. Crappie here feed largely on Shad. Shad oil should be a good choice.

    WD-40. It's main ingredient in fish oil.

    Thanks guys will look for some shad oil scent. Thanks but no WD-40 for me as it no longer? contain fish oil

    Jigflinger ... WRONG !! There is NO FISH OIL in WD-40, and there never was any. WD-40 basically contains petroleum distillates & mineral spirits.

    Even the mfg of WD-40 has put out a disclaimer that basically states that they do not recommend WD-40's use as a fishing "scent" product.

    He asked what I used. I told him. Whatever the reason, it seems to work for me. If you don't use it, that's fine with me. But, if you don't mind, I'll keep on using it.
