Minnows vs Jigs Smithville/ Minnows 13 Jigs 2

[STL Crappie Nightmare]

Hit Smithville Sunday morning early to beat the heat, brought minnows along for insurance and its a good thing I did. Started out in 7 FOW and caught a keeper pretty quick then nothing. Moved out to 13-17 FOW and the action picked up a little bit by that time it was getting hot (Thank God for the breeze) I had the old 2 guns approach going minnow with one rod jigs with the other and it was not contest. Only caught 2 fish on jigs all day but both were keepers. Heard a tornado coming with a 20ft rooster tail chasing it and when the dust settled it was Keeferfish and he brought a breeze with him. Took a long time and a lot of Gatorade and water but I was able to scratch out a limit of good fish. Biggest was 13 with a couple of 12's and all but maybe one or two were solid 11's or better, good fish for Smithville.

Nice fish!!! I found the same thing Saturday!!!! I caught very few fish on jigs. All of my keepers came off minnows!!!
