Back in 2009, Papillion and Sarpy County had a plan to create a better watershed to prevent flooding in western Papillion. The design for a new lake, designated WP -5 was put on hold due to the construction of the new baseball stadium in the same area. While the new stadium didn't present a threat to the construction of the new watershed, it did change the overall design of the area that was proposed in 2009. So during the past two years, a new proposal was selected and approved to not include just one, but 3 new watersheds. Even though the two new ones are much smaller than the proposed WP-5 (135 acres), it should be stocked as well.

Construction begins late this year near 126th and Cornhusker on WP-5 and the proposed WP-6 and WP-7. Fish are slated to be stocked sometime in 2014-2015.

Should be fun for future fishing.
