    Default boat build

    Well ...here goes.
started buying plywood for a 16' brockway scow.
(Think high sided oyster crab boat )
Square bow ... six foot bottom.
Bought some plans ...going to see if i can build a nice fishing scow.

This is what im building..for truman lake mo.
she'll be pretty close to this..only mine will be a 16 footer.
Ill do external chine logs ..no frames. Be simple and super easy to clean. Sole will be over an inch
    Thick.
Rub rail will be laminated white oak.
Bottom skeggs will be 1x4 white oak ..for beaching on rocks and sandy soils. Both transoms will be left
Uncut. Will use a mini jack plate for the yamaha 9.9 . With stick steering.
So far ..that is the plan.

Stern is for the motor....i do believe you ment the bow?
The design is very old style of earl brockway. Ive been researching wood skiffs.
Was looking for somrething that a greenhorn (me) could build quickly .
Its simplicity is amazing. The square bow adds room and more stability. Less bends for the plywood.
There is a small amount of rocker built in. And a little bit of dead rise under the bow.
she'll ride in the water just like any other boat. I like the looks.

Yes ,I meant bow. I have been running jons for years . It looks like a rough ride unless the bow is angled more . I want to build a small drift boat for the rivers but just haven't gotten up the gumption yet . The epoxy ,glues ,and especially scarfing intimidate me .

Then have body shop glass the bottom.
