Default Round Head Jigs w/Red Sickle Hooks...Best All Around Size???

I just want to say that I have really enjoyed Crappie.com since I joined. I had no idea how much knowledge was out there about Crappie fishing. It's also great to be able to come here and talk to some really great people about something we all have in common....fishing!

I know this question is a matter of opinion, but I'm getting a little more serious about my Crappie fishing and want to learn. I have always just picked up whatever hooks came in the size jig head I wanted and used them. I have never used sickle hooks, but have read in this forum that they do well. So, I am wanting to purchase some quality, unpainted, round head jigs w/red sickle hooks and want to know the best all around hook size for Crappie in each of the following jig heads...1/32, 1/16th, & 1/8.

I would like to support and buy from a Crappie.com sponsor if possible.

I personally like to use 1/32 oz, I can always add a split shot for weight if need be. Oops, we use a #6 hook for this weight

Just an opinion.........second the idea that a 1/16th with a #4 hook is a good all around, but........
if you found yourself in an area where the bigger fish hang out, try the 1/8th with #2. Just ordered
100 minnow head 1/8th w/red sickle hook for the bigger crappie. Optimistic? Yep!

Any size for me....1/32 when shallow and 1/16 or 3/16 when fish are in the 12+ feet of water. Always use #2 Litewirehook.

on 1/32 ,I use #6with good success, but the important part no one never covers and that is the size of the bait. I make my own stinger bait and make it with a skinnie body which to me day in and day out catches more fish. I also make me a larger body but catch more on the smaller body but still 2" in length. The smaller hook goes threw brush better

Grousefly and Nightprowler also sell jigs here on the board. In ball heads I'll go with 1/32nd with a #4 and a 1/16th with a #2 sickle or regular aberdeen Mustad or Eagle Claw hook. Same with a Minnow head in the same sizes and also pony and horsehead jigs. don't be afraid to go up to a 1/8th if you have to.
