Post Wierd Crappie Day on Lake O the Pines

    CONDITIONS:
    Temp: 62
    Water Temp: 62
    Overcast, Rain
slight breeze out of the NE
Small and Med. Minnows and jigs with Minnow trailers
some at 18 ft most at 5ft with structure

Rod & Reel and I went out yesterday about noon and fished till 8:30. It was hit and miss all day with the rain, clouds (no wind) and a water temperture of 62 degrees. A couple of fish here and there in the deep water averaging a fish an hour (WOW, couldnt hardly keep up) but we kept after it. Finally decided to go fish under Hurricane Creek bridge about dark. Now during this time of year usually the fish are deep but not today. 5 feet with shiners--5ft!!! can ya believe it in late November? Will we ever get cold weather, or will East Texas be the new tropics?. Well we ended up with 19 fish between us and ate um' this morning.

    Hi Wild Bill,
Is a minnow trailer just a minnow hooked on a jig or is it something else?..........treepotato

Minnow trailer is a very small jig with a small minnow or Rosy Red attached at the lips. It appears as if the minnow is eating the jig. It appears to work and you can change jigs to meet conditions
