    Default Quartering the wind

Everyone on here may already know this trick but I thought it was good. Fairly new video on youtube .... It's bad enough being a beginner at Crappie fishing and then having to fight the wind too, especially around trees. banghead I know the guy is fishing in shallow water and has the high dollar anchors but I believe the idea of using the wind is a good idea and can probably be implemented in a little deeper water also. Crazy way to wind drift the float and fly around trees (BBZ Style) - YouTube

Yep- that's how I've been doing it for years- didn't realize I was so far ahead of my time! Thumbs Up. The thing about strike indicators and controlled depth fishing from pitching distances- you can cover a lot of water around your boat without having to mess with constantly controlling the trolling motor. I rarely use fixed bobbers- usually use a slip bobber and adjust in 2 foot increments until I find the holding depth. Get too deep, the fixed bobbers aren't practical.
