I try to take a fall camping/fishing excursion with my family every year. Last year we were at Chase Co. lake and had a great time. We usually try to hit the smaller lakes to save $$. I was wondering if anyone fished Lyon Co. lake (Reading Lake) for crappie and if it'd be worth spending a few days down there this fall. Trying to stay pretty close to Manhattan (home) seeings as how we'll have a 3 or 4 month old this year, along with a 5 year old and a 3 year old. Yeah, it's a blast! Thanks.

I've heard that they put crappie in Reading Lake but have never caught one. It's more of a bass and catfish lake. They also don't have any playground equipment for kids.
