Just be patient tha 1st couple times. I take my chocolate lab all the time now ,she almost 14 mo. old and has been on a boat 67 times(I put a little mark in my log book is how I know that) she s great she jumped off the very 1st trip but is great now watch hooks and lures dangling in front of it . Mine didn't bite em but I have friends that had a problem with that . If its a water dog let it take a swim before or after the trip to keep it fun for the dog too. My dog has been out in the ocean , chesapeake bay and marshes and crappie fishing in millponds. The last time she didn't go with me wife said she sulked and moped around till I got back. Good luck let us know how ya make out.

We never leave the dock without Jessie. She's a 7mo. old Lab & Husky, love to go fishing. If we leave the livewell open she puts her head under water and gets the fish out.Name: 2012-05-20 003.jpg

She enjoyed it after she settled down and figured out where she could sit and lay down .. thought she was gonna jump out once but she thought better of it!

My Golden Retriever was the best fishing partner ever. You can cuss and fart and lie about the 3 pounder you just missed and he wouldn't tell a soul.

Mine lab will get the fesh out as well, she could raise the lid on my old boat so if she got quiet you best be checking on her. They are great companions!!

Now you got to train her. A very good friend of mine use to have a yellow lab that would bark when his bobber went down.

Yep! Dogs are smart. I use to raise Labs. They are amazing. And their loyalty is unconditional.
