I was hoping to get up there, too, but I hate "first light".....need to learn how to get used to using an alarm I guess.
I never liked fishing crowded water during the holiday weekends , but If I go out , I'm usually off the water by 9:30 am before the pleasure boaters get out . I haven't decided if I'm going to fish Smithville this weekend or not . If I do , I'll be on the water at first light .

We will be there at first light for some slalom skiing and wake boarding.
Forget about fishing in the ski zone.....unless u like big waves.
Progressive Marine Insurance SUCKS!. If you hit a submerged object they will try to prove manufacturers defect....stay away from them.
you always have to have a back up plan
UP here we have what you call a no wake lake
Headed for Norfork. I know plenty of coves I can get back in so the pleasue boaters won't be a problem for me.
Will be on the upper Grand of Truman Sat.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
did my traveling to truman lat weekend. gonna stick to the missouri river this weekend. there will till be more boats than usual but it's not even close to lake traffic.
I plan to hit Stockton Friday at first light until about 10PM. Seems that is about the time the wind comes up and the water fleas come out. Sat, Sun, and Mon hope to be on one of the small creeks/rivers. Might be back on Stockton again on Tuesday.
