    Default The Ville 5/18 5/19

Little late on the report but figured Id post it. Put in up north Friday after work and put 14 in the boat soakin corks and minnows. 3-6 FOW minnow 18" from the cork about 3' off the banks, it worked great, went out sat morin with the lady and ran same setup in the same spots and pulled 12 more keepers out. Still new to this but its been freakin great, I have yet to switch off minnows cause we keep catchin em but would like to learn jigs- any suggestions. Headin out Friday after work and sat mornin then headed to Truman for the rest of the weekend.

Same way but instead of a stinky old minner and gold hook put a crappie jig on the end. blue/char or red/char has been the ticket form me all year so far. good luck

Next thing you will graduate to jigs and 10-12 foot long poles. It's great when you feel them hit your jig on the drop or lift while holding the line!

Congrats on getting into them and thanks for the report. It seems like there are days they want only minnows, other days only jigs and other days it doesn't matter at all. If you use a jig under a bobber, it usually helps me to work it a little with a slight jerk or two or a real slow retrieve .. you usually can't let it just sit there like you might a minnow. You might just try casting jigs right into that bank also .. you might get hung up a little more often, but sometimes that can make a big difference.

Good luck and keep those reports coming!

Sounds like you guys are doing quite well. Congrats. Even when trying jigs still take along some minnows in case that is what they want. Now, if you REALLY wanna catch alot of fish then start doing some searches on LONGLINING.Thumbs Up
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
