Missouri watercraft section 306.545 (Aug 28th, 2011) "The owner shall affix the decal to the outside of the outboard motor in a conspicuous place" I put mine on the engine cowl,(engine cover) left side of the engine at the top of the cowl.
Okay.. Just registered my boat to Missouri and they gave me a motor registration sticker, but didn't tell me where to put it. Ohio and Illinois never had motor registrations, so I never had to put a sticker on the motor before. And the DMV neglected to tell me where it goes.
thanks for any help..

I put mine above the water line, but not on the cover.....someone may steal the cover just to have a legal sticker on their motor
When I had my boat, I also stick it on the side of the motor cover.
Put it over the pee hole and it will keep the mud dobbers out of the water line............
