Thats awesome yet it sucks at the same time. I guess the turtles have to eat? Lead that is right to the cranium!
So looks like the crappie are moving back to shallows. I was out there for a little under 2 hours and landed 10 10"+ crappies biggest being 14"
Just one thing, a turtle swam off with my stringer...to make it worse headless bodies of the crappies I caught started to float to the surface as i was leaving.
W bridge
1/16 roadrunner with chartreuse baby shad 2' under bobber. Most strikes came as soon as the lure straightened out under float.

GOOD AND BAD..... Thanks for the report.
FISH ON......... inspired by river monsters around the globe.......
Sucks but good to hear they're still biting.
Turtle SOUP!
Congrats to the turtles, I guess. Thanks for the report. Hoping with this somewhat stable and warmer weather the spawn gets its second wind!
I've lost two stringers of crappie in my life. One to turtles and one to stupid.
Stringer that had about 18 nice fatties on it got towed out to sea by a logger head snapper. Nuttin to do by keep fishing for more.
Stringer full of crappie, hooked on my buddies tackle box in the jon boat. I drop him off at the dock, he goes for truck. He sucks at backing so to keep the fish fresh I reach back and flip them back in the water... he had taken his tackle box to the truck... the stringer is not attached to anything. Nice heavy cable stringer with metal clips and about 25 crappie goes straight to the bottom.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
the good then bad the ugly,,,, tough luck,,good luck for the turtle though,,, glad you had a decent time anyway
Thanks for the report! There's still hope for me, well depends. I'm going Saturday and hopefully Friday after work.
The fishing was so good I thought it was yesterday
Thanks for the report!
May all your live wells be full.Dave
