Slab..aka Clam Falls Wisconsin Campground owner,Rick Cook and I hit a few lakes around his campground. We caught lots of crappies in the pound and a half to 2 pound range. The biggest at 16 inches. We released most of the big ones, except the ones that got gut-hooked.I'm looking to go back over Memorial Day weekend,if I can convince the wife to let me go.Here are a few pics of our fishing excursion.

Thanks, and your welcome.I know to some of you, these are small, compared to your southern white crappies. But given we have lots of ice and a shorter growing season, these are big for the midwest.
I also wanted to say....these crappies came from a lake sprouting crappie cribs, and beaver huts, that are not only shallow, but some of the branches are protruding from deeper water. It also has a big pine tree that had snapped off about 6 feet off the ground. The top of the tree was laying in about 12-15 feet of water. In my opinion...a classic example of a great crappie lake with great structure to hold the bigger slabs. We probed the deeper brush and hit paydirt.Crappies stacked up like cord wood.As you can see from their tails...they are nearing the spawn.Also...when you can see the cottonwood trees kicking out their furry cotton...it's indicating...it's great fishing time!
