    Default egg color

caught a few crappie this week with some eggs that were a odd light grayish color.
Does that mean she is not going to spawn and is reabsorbing the eggs ?

Sounds like a real good possibility. That coloration does sound like you're looking at dead eggs. Where'd you catch them, & what was the water temp in that area ??

Generally speaking ... the eggs should go from a light yellow, tight/firm egg sac with thin bloodlines, to a gold color with loose egg sac & large bloodlines ... before being ripe enough to be deposited into the nest. IMHO - Any other coloration, or discoloration, should be a sign of distress, disease, or reabsorption taking place.
