Where to set minnow trap in hillsdale lake?

Hi, I have a Minnow trap that I never use before, the reason is that I have no idea whee to set it. I goes to hillsdale lake very often. I would like to set a trap and get my own minnow. Can anyone give me a good location to start with ? Thanks

I read alots of post here it said , set it where ou see minnow. The problem is I never see any minnows.

I normally place mine in alittle bit of backwater, anywhere u see them shade hittin the water cause they like the back water with veggitation and u can also but a float on it even a noddle or jug so u can have it right whee u want it or even tie it on a dock to

Easy man i tend to use something like old froezen meats or potatoes, i try not using things like bread for it just falls to pieces and they will just eat it from the outside of the cage and the meat (especally bacon) has a film of fatty oils that the minnows and even crawfish cannot resist!

I don't know if it is a regional thing, but I have read onions, of all things work good, as well as sticks of chewing gum (don't know which flavor)...can't confirm it yet, but I will try and post here..

I have all different bait, i am looking for where to set it. I want to set it then go around fishing then come back in the evening and pick it up for night crappie fishing.

How is hillsdale this year? I used to tear them up on the flats out there

Birdgod - sorry to open an old thread, but I was curious to see if you had any success catching minnows out at Hillsdale? I've dropped my trap a dozen times out there and numerous places around Olathe in search of minnows, but all I ever catch is small perch.
