Well........... take one off the NO side.......... I miss read it. I think it does NOT matter and private ponds or lakes that should NOT be a limiting factor.

Guess I need to slow down.......

I don't see why it wouldn't. Alot of the lakes we fish are man made and stocked with fish.
There will always be some that will be jealous of what someone else has.

i say NO only because they have the means to hand feed or use a feeder. just like that guy in texas that was gonna have the record, it LIVES and nests 30 feet off HIS dock and he can see it in 4 ft of water .......he SNAGGED it remember ? i am just saying that if i had a place like george busch does and made his own pond and hand picked the fish to go in there and a bio guy watchs over the pond, you can bet that those fish are bigger having food fed to them and not have to forage for it naturally.

Why not. It still takes time to grow big fish and it is still by chance to catch a big fish. BUT, in Southern Cali they plant hatchery brood stock in some of the lakes. These fish are aready 20 plus pound trout. record ???????? Also these lakes aren't that big, bigger than a pond. I guess I could vote both ways ???

Why would you consider it being a record if only select people can have a chance to claim it? Some people limit their ponds to catch and release until they catch that big one. Only public waters should be recognized for state and world records. Everyone has a chance then.

Why could it not be 2 standards of records-public lakes(1) private ponds/lakes (2) That would not be difficult for game dept. to keep up with! I mean they keep up with how many deer are Killed in each county..Not as many record fish caught as deer killed, shouldn't be a problem..Some one start a petition in Virginia, I'm in... Later, Russ!

I agree with Jig'r........I would really like to catch a bigun but the fun for me is all in finding them...In other words the chase is better than the kill..They can't be too hard to find in a pond or small lake..
