    Default Lure Colors

I have been at this crappie jerkin' for over 50 years. I have my own 'favorite colors', as do each of you. Personally, I don't think color is really an issue, given a lure that moves slowly and looks easy to catch should work. (Crappie have no McDonalds to go to, so that have to eat when they can!!) BUT ---- I am seeing two colors that APPEAR (stress that word 'appear') to work a bit better. ANYTHING with chartrusre is crappie favorite. Plus, RED appears to be a good attractant. I have a jig in my sponsor line that has a chatreuse body and a red tail ---- guess what? It is not as productive as a solid cartreuse or a solid redName: 15netfull.jpg

Seems to apply. Appears they can find a lure in cloudy water OK, SO LONG as it moves slowly. But, until one of us gets to talk to a crappie and ask what amkes him tick, and BITE, we may never know for sure. Everything else is just theory, based on experiences.

Try reversing those colors...a red body with a chart tail and see if that improves the catch rate.
