I hope your back is in good shape. Fast in tin means it hits waves hard without the weight to cut into them. Just some input, I'm interested in where this goes.

You're correct about the ride, I am fishing a relatively small river and a rough day is 3-5 seas. 3-5 inches that is lol.

I can tell you this much, I fished out of a 14' (14'7") Crestliner tiller for a bunch of years. Widest, most stable, comfortable deep-V (with a full length flat floor) on the market - in my opinion. Also one of the lightest (being all welded construction), so speed is right up there. Speed, of course, depends on the motor you put on the transom, as well as pitch and position. If you are looking for the fastest set-up, make sure the cavitation plate on the engine is in line with the lowest point (on the transom) at the keel.

I can't talk from experience, cause I've only owned on model of boat. I have an '02 Bass Tracker 175 xt pro series w/ 90/65 merc jet. Tops out @ 30 which is plenty fast enough for me. Might think about a jet drive for the river fishing. Sure like the peace of mind not having a lower unit to worry about. JMO.

G3Troller had a 20' rig that was fast (70 or so), dont know what they make in the smaller line but it was a good ride.

I've rode in BRM's express in a good 2' to 3' swells at 40+ and it impressed me on how well and smooth the ride was.
