I tie a jig on the line with a loop knot and 12in. below that I wrap the line through an egg sinker 4 times and about a ft. below the sinker I tie another jig.
Ok dont shoot me because I know it's been covered 1000214832147 times. It's just harrrrrrd to search for it because of the common terms. I know that seems backwards but it is. ANYWAY, Ive always fished for crappie just about every way BUT spider rigging. Jig shooting and pitching minnows and jigs in dock, vertical jigging brush, ketucky rigging in brush, night stalking, etc.
Trying to get set up for spider rigging, got rods and such, but what rig is the preference for drowning minnows while spider rigging. Ive seen some using a Kentucky rig, even when not "bottom bouncing" and some using Capps and Coleman style...and then a variety of other solutions as well. So what do yall prefer for scooting around 0.1-0.4MPH with about 6-10 rods off the front?

I tie a C & C type rig. Two minnow hooks, egg sinker between them.

I like a 3/4 or 1 oz bell sinker on the bottom (Ky rig) with a minnow hook about 12" above it. I used to use two minnow hooks but found that I catch as many fish off the one hook as I did the double rigs and it saved me ALOT of minners.
I went to one bait also, much less aggravating in the brush/stumps. Line down to a 1/2 oz. weight, wrapped 5 times, down 12-15" or so a jig or rr. Fish this rig year round. Only time i don't fish it is when I'm single poling or the one time or so a year I cast jigs under a cork during winter.
